Le baptême d'Olympe | Hydra Island Baptism

As a filmmaker, I praise the beauty of life, love, and the present moments that are meant to be cherished in the future. But I also learn. I learn from those whose existence is purest, the children. Filming their stories has always had a special place in my heart, in a beautiful candid way. That is why when I was asked to capture the baptism of Olympe by Alexandra and Alex, I felt honored and delighted. It was a Hydra Island baptism which made everything even more special.

The parents and their lovely daughter Olympe came all the way from France for the baptism on the island of Hydra. It is one of the most enchanting islands, nestled in the heart of the Argo Saronic Gulf. Because it is just two hours from Athens, it is very convenient to come here - it provides that magical island life that is not that far away. A historical beauty that has withstood the test of time. This Hydra Island baptism was hosted at the Metropolis of Hydra which is also a living breathing museum of art.

When filming the video, I loved including every laughter, every strong step of Olympe, the support and love of her parents, and the beautiful relaxed vibe of everyone present. Also, I loved including the donkeys that are a bit archetypal about the island and ever so sweet. Alexandra, her mom, had her birthday that day and they had a cake prepared for her as well. Celebrating the baptism and birthday, they all enjoyed themselves at the Sunset Restaurant.

I am so glad I got to know this wonderful family since they found me through the planner Eventions Weddings. With the photographer Achilleas Colaclides we captured the essence of Olympe’s chapter in life.
